  • Leverage learning opportunities to increase instructional minutes!

  • Presume positive intent in order to maintain positive mindsets!

EXPLORE Site

Westport will be an ELEMENTARY ONLY Explore site this summer during the month of JUNE.  Myself and Rebekah Kirby will be the principals.  Please start planning to ensure personal items are taken care of over the summer.

Westport Middle School Tardy

We start our somewhat new tardy policy on Wednesday, January 15.

Here are a few reminders:

  • Enter tardies during the first 10 minutes of the period.

  • Always tell students when you enter a tardy for them.

  • Students over 5 minutes late are out of assigned.

2nd Semester Tardy Procedures

Please read through our new tardy procedures.

Do not enter any tardies into the SPS Tardy Management System until Wednesday, January 15.

Need to Know Information:

  • TARDIES SHOULD NO LONGER BE ENTERED INTO ESCHOOL.

  • All Tardies will be entered by classroom teachers using the SPS Tardy Management System.

    • Tardy Management System Login

·       Username: tms

·       Password: tms7759

  • Student ID numbers are needed to enter tardies.

  • Enter tardies within the first 10 minutes of class.  We will notify parents of student tardies via text messages/emails.

  • When navigating class periods within the TMS, using the back arrow seems to be the easiest way to reenter the class period.

  • Helpful hint: Print rosters for each class with ID numbers included for quick reference when entering each tardy.

  • Notify students when you enter a tardy for them…no surprises

  • Students who are over 5 minutes late should be referred for being out of the assigned area.

  • If you keep a student after class causing them to be late to their next class, please create a SMART pass.

  • Students who come to school late, will check in with the office and have a pass.  We are differentiating between late to school and tardy to class.

  • Add a note to your sub plans:  When taking attendance, also mark each student who is tardy to class on the printed class roster.

Chris Davis and Tambra Lee will be managing the tardy system.

Let them know if you have any questions or concerns.
