MAP Pep Rally

DOVE and the teacher team stole the show while easily beating the Track Stars during the Staff vs. Students Emoji game!!!  During the competition, one of the students was overheard saying, “We can’t do all of that!”  Students behaved well, and we gave them a positive MAP-focused experience before our MAP testing begins.

Thank you all for your part in the assembly!!

MS MAP LUNCH SCHEDULE

Remember, there are some changes to the lunch schedule during MAP:

Each MS teacher will

  • Since there are NO PLT sessions during MAP TESTING we ask that all PLT times teachers provide support in hallway supervision and rotate around the testing rooms to provide support to other staff that are testing.

  • Have a sign on their door to help direct students to the correct lunches.

  • Have a memo to read to your classes at 11:15 (right before 1st lunch), so they know when to go to lunch.

Hopefully, this chart LINK will make it a little easier.  Thanks for your flexibility during MAP testing!!

Westport MAP Test Prep

State testing is a critical focus for our school right now. Our collective performance makes up 90% of our building’s Annual Performance Report (APR), which plays a major role in district accreditation and how we’re evaluated by the state. These DESE-mandated assessments reflect not only student learning but also our school's overall impact and effectiveness.

Important Dates

Technology

  • If you are testing: please make sure you have a full classroom set of headphones and working student devices. All keys and functions should be in working order, and devices should be fully charged ahead of testing dates.

  • If you are not testing: please separate all working and non-working headphones and student devices. Devices may need to be distributed to testing classes as needed.

Testing Environment

  • If you are testing, please make sure curricular items on walls and other areas are removed or covered prior to testing dates.

Student Preparation

  • Remind students in ALL CLASSES about upcoming MAP testing.

  • Take a minute to discuss testing strategies and encourage students to get sleep, eat breakfast, and be present and on time each day of MAP testing.

  • Remind students that phones are NOT allowed in classes at all during testing sessions and that travel is NOT permitted during testing sessions.

  • In testing classes, review testlets and the Online Training Tools to familiarize students with technology enhanced test items.
